INFORMATION FOR CLAIMANTS
As a medical expert witness I am instructed by a solicitor to prepare a report on your injury or treatment that will be used as evidence in your claim. In most cases of personal injury claims I have been instructed jointly by both sides (claimant and defendant). In this regard my duty to the court is to act as an independent expert who has not been involved in your case to present an impartial report of your injury. In negligence cases my instructions are usually singular for the claimant (you) or the defendant (hospital) and it is likely you will be examined by another expert for the other side.
The report will involve a review of all your medical records. It will also require your attendance for an assessment. At this assessment I will conduct a detailed interview and undertake a thorough examination. For this assessment please bring some proof of identification and any useful information you have relating to your injury.
